Renishaw's ballbar analysis is a method prescribed in international standards for machine testing.  It provides an easy way  to determine if your machine is capable of manufacturing components to your specifications.
As a diagnostic tool, the ballbar can spot serious mechanical problems that may be affecting machine accuracies .  Typical complete ballbar analysis can be performed in 2 to 3 hours per 2-axis.
